James F. Kendall comes from a long line of prominent men and women. One prime example is his great-great grandfather Willy B. Gray, who, in April of 1865, resolved to do what was right for his country by joining in the Civil War efforts. Courage runs deep in the Kendall family. Women also figure into Kendall’s impressive history. For example, his great aunt, Andrea A. Schlitz, was well-known for taking a gallant stand for Prohibition.
Kendall’s own mother has also proved to be inspirational to him through her involvement in many community and civic groups. As a young boy, Kendall saw firsthand the passion that many women have toward political affairs, and this observation put in his heart a desire to help women. His most recent endeavor is his creation of an organization called New Trainees Energized to Render Needed Service (NTERNS). NTERNS groups are exciting many students on college campuses across the country by encouraging young women to find unique positions in government service.
In addition to his concern for women’s causes, Kendall also possesses a deep concern for the elderly. His love for his beloved grandmother encouraged him, even at a young age, to help senior citizens. One of his most gratifying achievements took place in his senior year of high school when he started a club called Health Industry Costs Keep Impacting Everyone (HICKIE). HICKIE groups across the country have made their mark by successfully convincing lawmakers to require pharmacies to dispense free aspirin to the elderly. Today, HICKIE members and many VFW groups are excited by the recent news that not only will free aspirin be given to the elderly but Viagra as well. Kendall is glad to do his part to help the millions and millions and millions of fine senior citizens across our land.
Kendall studied law at the University of North Carolina and later received his law degree from Harvard. In 1984, he started his own law firm, now known as The Law Offices of Kendall, Abdulla, Rothschild, Swenson, Poltowski, Churchill, Running Deer, DiVenchi, Garcia, Shultz, and Goeltzenleuchter. This firm has been committed to the fair and equitable treatment of all citizens of the United States. Its most famous case was the WWF vs. National Enquirer, in which the WWF brought a libel suit against the Enquirer for claiming that wrestling was fake. Kendall’s law firm successfully argued that wrestlers could, indeed, throw 300 lb men over their heads. One of the most memorable moments of the trial (and what many say was the deciding blow given by the plaintiffs) was when Kendall had Timmy Plinker (a.k.a. The Testosterone Terror) throw Bernie Glackley (a.k.a. Mighty Macho Moondog) across the floor in front of the jury. Kendall’s success in the courtroom is indicative of his power of persuasion, which will be needed to prevent the gridlock that is so often associated with Washington D.C.
James and his wife Kathy have 3 children and reside in Washington, DC. They maintain modest homes in Texas, California, Michigan, Florida, New York, and Alabama.
Now that you know something about Kendall and his past, take a look at his vision for the future of America by examining his policies regarding important issues.
The first E of the 3E Triangle is public education. Kendall is proud of his public school heritage, and his passion for education is contagious. His wife Kathy was so inspired by his commitment to education that she left her prestigious position as Director of Pediatrics at the Mayo Clinic to become an elementary school teacher. Even Kendall’s second grade teacher Mrs. Mabel Klumfeltz noticed Kendall’s dedication to education and America when he was just eight years old. An interview in the November 2000 issue of the Nationwide Education Cooperative’s publication The Joy of Teaching celebrates Mrs. Klumfeltz’ 83 years of service in education. In this article, Mrs. Klumfeltz fondly recalls Kendall’s love for his nation: “I remember every morning during the Pledge of Allegiance, James’s eyes would tear up as he looked at the flag that stood in the corner of the room. It was all I could do to keep from crying myself.” Because of Kendall’s dedication to teachers like Mabel Klumfeltz, he plans to create an organization called Tackling Education Needs Using Resources Effectively (TENURE). TENURE’s efforts are to produce happy, stress-free, knowledgeable, relaxed, productive, secure, content, healthy, and well-paid teachers (and, of course, educated students.)
The second E of the 3E Triangle is the environment. Kendall’s environmental policies will address not only global concerns, but local ones as well. For instance, in order to eliminate the litter problem in his local area, Kendall successfully lobbied the Legislature to implement the Adopt-A-Highway program. Through Kendall’s efforts, this program has been expanded to include Adopt-A-Playground, Adopt-A-Sidewalk, and the less specific, more adaptable Adopt-A-Designated Area. This last category is designed so that individual communities can adjust the program to fit their municipal needs. Some examples include Adopt-A-Ghetto, Adopt-A-Prairie, Adopt-A-Holler, and Adopt-A-Neck of the Woods.
Kendall’s global pollution concerns prompted him to develop a committee called Stop Polluting Our Topography (SPOT). SPOT is made up of 50 prominent business leaders and social activists from all over the world, who are dedicated to the reduction of global pollution, especially the unnecessary use of petroleum products. This group has shown its commitment to this cause by meeting every other week in Sydney, Australia for the past nine years. If elected, Kendall can make a real and effective attempt at lowering pollution across the world.
The last E of the 3E Triangle focuses on equality. Kendall’s support of equality crosses all barriers and seeks to unite this nation and the world in true harmony and peace. Kendall declares that whether one is white, black, red, yellow, male, female, gay, straight, rich, poor, educated, non-educated, union, or non-union, there is hope for unity among such diversity. His organization, Peace and Harmony Lovers Eager to Gain Momentum (PHLEGM), is in its infant stage and has already excited many. In a speech given to a diverse crowd gathered outside a local Toys R Us early one morning before Christmas, Kendall coined a phrase that has now become the motto of PHLEGM: “We Have an Aim to be the Same!” PHLEGM also has a monthly magazine called When We All Stick Together. If elected, Kendall will create a “revolving” cabinet post to be represented by a different segment of society each month, insuring that all people are treated fairly and equitably at the highest level of government.
